I have a lot of watches, including full automatics and an Omega Seamaster - but I tend to wear my Casio G-Force every day for the last few years. When I saw this one, I loved it and grabbed what is now my new favorite.I liked my Apple Watch (before it shattered from falling about a foot onto a vinyl floor), but I hated having to charge it every day. The Pro Trek is a brilliant blend of what I liked from the Apple Watch and why I prefer conventional ones. The app for the Pro Trek works great and automatically corrects the time a few times a week on the watch while immediately fixing the time zone when I travel. Pro Trek logs steps and that stuff, but I don’t use it much. The compass seems to work well, and I am a trained/skilled land navigator with a compass and map - but I haven’t had a chance to check the accuracy yet - I suspect it would be difficult for real navigation, since one needs to lay the compass on the map and correct for magnetic/true north to orient; and I don’t see how that would work. If you need to know which way is north or whatever, this would work fine, but it’s not a survival tool. The battery life should be good, I’ll update if it is not.One negative- I don’t like the resin band, if searching for a product, I get the Samsung Gear ones popping up and it made sense that Casio would use the same size quick-release - but that is not the case, I ordered an 8-pack (for cheap) and no-bueno. 22 mm bands are a hair too small - might be a 23 or 24. I’m sure I can use them on other watches in the collection, but don’t use the 22’s.
