I love this item, wish I would've known about it years ago. I use it got my front door. Helps me get in my door fast and locks right away when I close it. You can change how fast you want to lock once it's lock from 5sec to a few minutes. You can also disable the feature with a timer, you also get 2 spare keys and it uses 2 batteries that last a very long time. You can also unlock it from your phone, Alexa or Google. I love itOK, so I've installed locks before. Big hole in the door for the knobs, smaller hole for the lock mechanism. Glanced at the instructions - very much the same as all the others I've done. And look! Here's a handy template to mark off where the holes go (thanks guys!). It's marked for a hole offset of 50mm from the edge, 60mm, or 70mm. 50mm - That fits perfectly on the fascia. I use the template provided, made the hole right as directed. Put in the lock hole as well. Everything's going great! Until I slip the lock mechanism in and find the (50mm) offset is not deep enough. Huh? It lined up exactly on the template. Everything was going great.Then, while examining the lock mechanism for any possible adjuster, I see ... "requires 60mm or 70mm hole offset".Well, I spent the next couple of hours finagling it.I'll take some of the blame - I could have avoided it. But did they have to give me the 50mm option on the template?RTFM closely and you'll be fine. Otherwise I like the lock!The latch completely stopped working after a month and one week. It no longer retracts no matter how new the batteries are or if I'm connected directly through micro usb. It was great while it lasted but it looks like it was only built to last through return period.Edit: I was contacted by Tiffane who explained that their product has a 365 day warranty and sent me a replacement.Update: Tiffane reached out and believed that I had a short in the battery wire. They immediately shipped a replacement. I've installed and I hope that it works well for more than 30 days.========Everything started out great. However, after 30 days the batteries were drained. I replaced the batteries and the unit no longer learns any fingerprints. This is terribly frustrating, since we rely on this lock to enter our house! What good is an unreliable lock?Great lock set. Works as advertised. Only gave it four stars because the bolt should also come in black, not silver.Build quality is nice. Pretty easy to assemble and app works well. The finger print reader works…. Sometimes it just takes a few taps but not more than 5 seconds to get it to work. It’s not instant but not such a hassle to make it annoying.This fingerprint lock is intended to replace my bedroom lock. The overall installation is straightforward: take down the old knob lock and follow the instructions to put on the fingerprint lock. Two things worth to mention: 1: rubber pads are for avoid crushed the wooden door frame and avoid wiggle noise so remember to put the correct rubber pad in each side; 2. This thing need 4 AAA batteries and the cover lid is close and tight by a small screw in the end of the door handle (see pics). If you want to reset the factory settings you have to open the lid under the lid which is hold by 2 other screws (I know it is confusing) and there is a small button can be pressed by small needle or screwdriver.Overall I am happy to use this fingerprint lock in order to get rid of one key less.I've been looking for a clever way to keep my child inside the house without some terrible thing they sell for this purpose. First thought was a deadbolt with a keypad on both sides. No Luck finding such a thing. I found these and installed them backwards, ie fingerprint required to exit instead of enter. I initially had some problems, one of the locks was not actuating and neither wanted to read my print. I had at one point given up on them and was just using the key. Sometimes technology requires a little patience and troubleshooting! The manufacturer kindly replaced the lock that was not actuating. I then went back and started from scratch setting them up, made sure the batteries were brand new, etc. They are now all working on the first attempt 90+ % of the time, occasionally it takes a second try or a drier finger. I'm not sure why in normal circumstances someone would opt for this over a keyless deadbolt, but for my unique requirement I am very grateful to have found this solution!
