So I was reading up on these "business fashions" web sites and some of them said that it's sort of tacky to go to more important meetings and such with an Apple watch on. I guess it's considered more business-like to have a classic-style watch with hands. Since I am trying to get some clients for my startup and the budget is thin, I got this affordable "Leatrom" watch to use for these sorts of events instead of my smart watch. At least until I can boost those receivables, you know?So the watch itself is pretty nice looking for what it is. Gold tones are even and not chintzy-looking, the face is sort of classy, and it has a nice gold tone band that is a bit flimsy but you get what you pay for. The band however is where the honeymoon ended. As is usual with watches, many folks, myself included, have to knock a few links off the band to fit over our pigeon wrists. Not to worry, I've done it before and many watches come with this little fixture that presses out the pins that hold the links together. Press the pins out, remove the extra links, press the pin back in. EZPZ, right? Nope. For some reason this watch came with no instructions whatsoever. Not how to set it, not how to replace batteries, and most of all not how to knock out links. The punch end of the little fixture it came with would push the pin out maybe 10% of the way, then you're stuck. Maybe there were supposed to be more parts in the box, who knows? Anyhow I wind up having to take the watch out to the garage and use my AR- pin punches, bench vise, hammer and cardboard to protect the finish while I bang out the pins, remove links, realign everything and press the pins back in. Seems like a lot of effort and someone without the skills will be dropping $$ at a jeweler's to get the band adjusted while the jeweler sort of smirks at the "affordable" watch.So yeah Leatrom folks: print up some operating and band adjustment instructions and include them with this product. Your customers think it would be real cool if you did. Otherwise I guess this watch will serve its purpose until the balance sheet says I can get something a bit more upscale.
